Yakudoshi
厄年
Ritual which is undertaken especially at the age of 25 and 42 for men, and 19 and 33 for women when the person is said to be most liable to suffer misfortune, and during which the individual prays to avoid illness and calamity.

一定の年齢で災厄や病気を払うために祈願する儀礼。男性は42歳、女性は33歳のとき（特に災厄が最も多いとされる年齢）に行われる。
