Gohei
御幣
A kind of ritual wand made by attaching zig-zag strips of gold, silver or white paper, seen as either an object in which the spirit of kami resides or as a decoration.

金銀、白、五色の紙を付けた祭祀に用いる棒。木や竹で出来ている。神霊の依るものあるいは神前の装飾として用いられ、参拝者のお祓いにも用いられる。
